2010 Recap

2010 was a great year. So many wonderful things happenned. RECAP:

For Valentines Day: Going to see Dane Cook In Jacksonville. 

 Wakeboarding and hanging out at Kingsley. Loved those days at the lake.

20th Birthday Party. My BFF and I .. Our birthdays are 2 days apart so we decided to celebrate it together last year. Hope to do the same for our 21st Birthdays!

 The family and I all went on a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas this past summer in July. So much fun.  Drinking on a rockin' boat. Not so much a good idea. 

 "THE YARD" At Senor Frogs in the Bahamas. So much fun!! Tons of food. Conga lines of shots.  Dancing. Stages. Bars. Fun. Fun. Fun! Dad and I had a strawberry daquari's while Mom and Chris had Pina Coladas and a Goombay Smash. Well lets just say they will get you smashed. Dads not a big drinker by anymeans. 1 of these yards was enough to knock any one on their butt. No lie. They were not stengy with their alcohol what so ever. Im surprised dad made it back to the boat. lol. What a great trip! :)

Huge Gator fans. We attended every home game and the away game in Alabama.  Even though we lost our ass and got our butt kicked most of the season. We are all still hard core Gator fans. With our new coach, maybe we will be able to step up the game next year.

 Engaged. November 20th, 2010.  Best day of my life so far. I cannot wait to marry him on Oct 9th, 2011.

Picking up my dress

Last night after I got off of work at  5:30, Kaylann and I headed off to Jacksonville to go pick up my dress. I was sooooo excited! I wish my mom could have went with us, but on account of her 8hr chemo treatment earlier that morning, she didn't feel to good.  But all we did was pick it up so it wasn't a big deal. We set the appointment for alterations in January, but I'll prolly end up cancelling that one.  And we also set it up for the bridesmaids to go get their dresses in January also. I can't wait for everything to start to come together. It is so much fun.

Snow In Florida

What a wonderful Christmas Weekend.  Friday night Chris and I went to his moms for a Christmas dinner with the family.  Chris got his ps3 move, games, and giftcards hes been wanting and I was given a COACH wristlet and giftcards. I think all together we have 9 giftcards to use now!! Saturday morning we got up bright and early and headed over to Chris's dad and then made it to his Nana's for a Christmas lunch.  We made it home around 3:30 and had our Christmas.  He gave me a COACH purse, House season 6, Big Star jeans and so much more.  Chris got plenty of clothes, shoes, and a watch from me. 

Later that even we headed over to moms.  I helped her and Carmen finish up some cooking.  We waited on dad to get home from work, then ate and opened presents.  Chris and I got plenty more stuff.  Fireplace logs, lamp, decor, kitchen decor, grilling stuff, and much much more. I could finally give mom that rag quilt I made her a couple weeks ago too. She loved it. 

The dogs were just eaten up all of the attention.

And we got to see little snowballs this weekend. They were super tiny but so cool.  I had never any snow before. 

Christmas Eve Wishes From Hurley

 Dad came over last night and we wrapped presents for mom and we watch Jeff Durham's Christmas special. Too funny! {Our beautiful tree and presents.}

Christmas Season

This by far has to be the best year so far, with many more to come of course.  Chris and I got engaged on November 20, 2010.  Found on who my real friends are.  Set the date for Oct 9, 2011.Bought my wedding dress on December 11.  Booked this gorgeous place on Dec 22. Oh and my dress was suppose to take 12 weeks to come in. It came in yesterday! Only 2 weeks. Yes!! I can't wait to go pick it up! None of this would be possible without my Mom, Dad and Chris.  I love them both very much!

After work today, Im going to treat myself to getting my nails done. Then meeting up with dad to do some last minute Christmas shopping.  Chris and I made a last minute trip to walmart last night to finish up some shopping also. We have been so slackin this year!

Sunday Recap

Sunday, the 19th was Chris's 23rd birthday.  We had presents, cheesecake brownies, played pool, games, and just hung out.  He got his ps3 game he'd been begging me for "black ops" and some sperrys (boat shoes).  He loved both things I got him.  He told me this has been best birthday he had ever had because of me and he got to hang out with his best friends.

World Golf Village

 So we went a looked at the Rennisiance at the World Golf Village in St Augustine today. Wow. It was gorgeous. They pretty much cater to your needs.

Whats In My Purse

UGGHHHH... I HATE BLOGGER SOMETIMES. I JUST HAD THIS ENTIRE POST DONE AND THEN IT WONT NOT POST OR EVEN SAVE. SO NOW I HAVE TO REDO THIS ENTIRE DANGG THING. UGH. ok. I'm done venting now.

back to my original posting now..

I've seen quite a few girls do this on their blog. So I thought I'd try it to for the fun of it! I ALWAYS keep my purse organized. No coins, trash, ect just thrown in there. That seriously bugs me. lol. Most people call my purse a suitcase, afterall i could probably survive on it for a week.  I do not see how women carry about these  super tiny itsy bitty purses that you can barely fit your cell phone in. I just do not understand it.

Of course, I have a COACh purse. I absolutely love it.

My Vera Bradley Cosmetic bag. Most everything small goes in here. Make up, hair ties, medicine, hand sanitizer, ect.

Becky made me this quilted FL Gator bag about a year ago now. I love it. It keeps all of my camera cords and phone charger.

My phone case I recieved from my Christmas Swap Partner. And of course, a Lilly Pulitzer.  I write everything down, so I do not forget. I'd sometimes loose my head if it wasn't attached.

Tommorow, My parents, Chris and I are going to look at venue #2. World Golf Village Rennisiance.  Maybe they wont want 11k for doing absolutely nothing.  We went and met with a photographer Wednesday night. So I believe we have found our photographer, just still looking for the venue.  Wish me luck (:

The Dress

So we all met at Ruby Tuesday for a early lunch before going to look at the White Room in St. Augustine.  Needless to say that was a total dissapointment.  They expected an outrageous amount of money for them to do absolutely NOTHING.  And they usually have 2 weddings going on at the same time. Um, NO.

After being at The White Room; Mom, Kaylann, Christina and I all went dress shopping. And Yes I found the dress. You know it's the dress when you start tearing up when you look in the mirror at yourself. It is absolutely gorgeous.  We also looked at some bridesmaid dresses. My maid of honor, Kaylann, gets to where whatever dress she picks out. She gets to be different. These aren't the dresses they are wearing. We were just playing around trying ones on that might look good in the wedding.

Whats your favorite thing about Christmas?

I love buying and making stuff for all my friends and family.  Ohh, then wrapping them in pretty paper with huge bows is even better.  I love the look on someones face when they open a present and its just the best thing ever!  It's so magical.  I can't keep the presents I've wrapped underneath my tree this year because Im sure that my two puppies will come rip them open.  They are just like little kids. Always getting into everything of mine.  But I love them so much.

Last night, my maid of honor, Kaylann, came over.  We went and ate some delecious Sonnys, then came home and talked about nothing but the wedding.  We are going to look at the venue this Saturday. I'm so excited.  Mom, Kaylann and I are meeting Chris's mom, and himself over there for a lunch and venue tour.  Maybe afterwards the girls and I will hit Jacksonville and go dress looking and meet one of my Bridesmaids over there. I never realized so much planning came into a wedding. Gah, sometimes I just want to pull my hair out. 

I ordered some sample invitations, save the dates, escort cards, in the mail.  Got some of them yesterday. I love them all. So cute.  I'm debating on buying a DIY Kit or buying the invitations already made.  I've decided on my colors. Damask and Hot Pink :)

We still have so much planning to do.

Rum or *Whiskey* Balls

I've had a few people email me wanting this recipe. So here ya go! Everytime mom and I make these, we double or triple the recipe at least.  We make some for us, the neighbors, and people I work with. 

1. 1 box vanilla wafers
2. 1 cup powered sugar
3. 4 tbsp light karo syrup
4. 1/2 cup rum or whiskey
5. 2 tbsp cocoa
6. 2 cup finely chopped pecans.

I usually buy the pecans in the baking aisle that are already packaged up finely chopped.  It saves the mess of cracking pecans, shelling them, and chopping them. Super time saver. But you do have to crush up at the vanilla wafers.  After the chop the pecans and crush the vanilla wafers, mix everything in the bowl together.  It will be super super sticky.  The easiet way to roll the mixture into small balls is to put some powered sugar on your hands so it doesn't stick to you as much.  But roll them into small balls, and then roll around in powered sugar.  Keep them in a air tight container.

Decorating

So I was walking around Walmart Saturday morning, doing some small Christmas shopping.  I got a wild hair to start redecorating.  I absolutely love pink and zebra stripes.  So I re did my bathroom.

Pink toilet seat cover, with white and pink wash cloths.

The black vase I used was suppose to be a toothbrush holder and thought it would be cute as a vase for some pink daiseys.
